Career history

Shine Bid Services, London: 2012-13

Lead writer for professional services company supporting international construction and infrastructure businesses to win large scale contracts in competitive bidding environments.

Responsibilities include commissioning, researching and presenting intel reports and leading client kick-off meetings, identifying offer and USP, the key evaluators and their drivers; managing, writing, sub-editing and proof-reading bid responses, including copywriting, updating and managing app CMS (iOS and Android); website, promo material and newsletter copywriting; social media engagement.

Projects included Google’s King’s Cross offices (£1bn), the Bank Underground Station redevelopment (£500m), the St James’ Market development (£450m), the One Mitre Square office development (£110m), and Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Phase 2B redevelopment (£50m), as well as various Priority Schools Building Programme batches in the Midlands, North East and South East, Bracknell Northern Retail Quarter, and the new Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle in Wembley.

Persian Cat Press, Manchester: 2011-12

Marketing & PR manager for digital publishing start-up, responsible for establishing the Persian Cat Press brand by formulating and implementing a marketing strategy for original interactive narrative iOS apps for younger children, teens and young adults, and adults.

Key responsibilities encompassed writing and distributing all marketing and publicity material, including all SEO website and social media content, recruitment advertising and funding proposals. I also recruited and commissioned the freelance reviewers for the Cat-Nav discovery app.

As well as building an enthusiastic and engaged following Persian Cat Press on various social media platforms (directly driving traffic to the company’s titles in the App Store and iTunes), I was able to garner positive coverage for Persian Cat Press’ apps in the Guardian, Forbes, the Manchester Evening News, How-Do, the Big Issue North, Creative Times, Kirkus, Children’s Technology Review, Digital Storytime, PadGadget, Appolicious, Apps Magazine, the iMum and 148Apps.

Tribal 24, Manchester: 2010-11

Launch editor of what’s on/accommodation website It’s Manchester, responsible for formulating editorial strategy, identifying appropriate SEO keywords and writing, researching, filming and editing all online content.
